الباب الوهمي مدخل الروح إلي العالم الآخر
واحد من العناصر التي أبرزتها الحضارة المصرية القديمة ، والذي يقع تحت إطار ديني وجنائزي هام جدًا عُرف بإسم الباب المُزيف الكاذب ايضًا كتير جدًا من الناس بيعتقد ان الباب الوهمي دوره هو حماية المقبرة من اللصوص عن طريق خداعهم البابً المزيف اسم لا يعكس المعنى الدقيق له ، فهو مدخل الروح في عقيدة المصري القديم . حيث تبعًا لمعتقدهم " ان روح الإنسان تتردد عليه بعد موته في الجسد وتأتي لتقبل القرابين من أهلها ، فكان الباب الوهمي هو نقطة الوصل بين الروح والجسد "
يُسمى في اللغة المصرية القديمة "r-pr". والباب المزيف عبارة عن صورة من الحجر أو الخشب للباب الحقيقي ويوجد في الجدار الغربي في المقبرة ايضًا ، ويُمكن ان يُثبت في الشرفة الأمامية أو في الجدار الغربي للمقصورة القربانية.
كما يمكن ان تحتوي المقبرة علي اكثر من باب وأحيانًا يوجد أمامه ممر ضيق .
يتم الحفر في الجزء العلوي منه اسم و ألقاب المتوفى ويكون اسمه فوق اللوح بين عتبات كما يوجد في العتب العلوي تعويذة قُرب فتحات الباب تعمل علي حماية الروح . ويأتي نقش صورته (واقفًا متجهًا أحيانًا إلى خارج الباب مما يعني خروجه من قبره) ومرة أخرى (وجهه إلى داخل الباب ، مما يعني الدخول إلى قبره ) .وقد نُقش على الفتحة أيضًا صورًا لبعض أفراد العائلة وهما قادمين نحو المتوفى لزيارته وتقديم قربان له .
ويعتقد بعض العلماء أن الباب المزيف ظهر منذ العصور التاريخية المبكرة .
حيث ظهرت الأسرة لأول مرة في المستطيلات متفاوتة الاتساع والعمق في بعض أجزاء الجدران ، رغم صعوبة معرفة الغرض من مثل هذه المستطيلات إلا أن وجود رموز تدل علي الروح فيها جعلهم يعتقدون ذلك.
وقد حدث تطور في الباب الوهمي للأسرة الثالثة حيث أصبح عميقًا تعلوه دعوات أسطوانية محفورة على عتبة الباب .
أما في الأسرة الرابعة أصبحت العتبة العلوية تحمل أسماء وألقاب صاحب القبر وصيغة القرابين (صاحب المقبرة ويجلس على طاولة بنفس التضحيات لأسماء المواد المُقدَمة كقربان). والميت واقفاً و أمامه مناصب شغله في حياته ومشاهد من الحياة اليومية.
و في الأسرة الخامسة والسادسة برزت من الجوانب الزخرفية علي شكل مستطيلات ومربعات أو خطوط متموجة أو النباتات كما كانت صور المتوفى شائعة إلى حدٍ ما.
وخلال عصر الدولة الحديثة ، استمر وجود الأبواب الوهمية لكن ارتبطت بالمعابد حيث جدران الجداريات المعروفة بإسم "الأذن السمعية" والتي كانت تقع عمومًا في الجدار الخارجي بالقرب من الجزء الخلفي من المعبد قُرب الحرم والتي تعمل عمل الأبواب الوهمية حيث سمحت هذه المصليات لمن هم خارج المعبد بالإتصال مباشرة مع الإله الذي كان يسمعهم من خلال الباب الوهمي.

The aperture is also engraved with images of some family members coming towards the deceased to visit him and make an offering to him. .
Some scholars believe that the false door appeared since early historical times.
Where the family appeared for the first time in rectangles of varying width and depth in some parts of the walls, despite the difficulty of knowing the purpose of such rectangles, but the presence of symbols indicating the spirit in them made them believe that.
There was a development in the false door of the Third Dynasty, where it became deep, topped by cylindrical invitations engraved on the doorstep.
In the Fourth Dynasty, the upper threshold became bearing the names and titles of the owner of the tomb and the formula for offerings (the owner of the tomb and sitting at a table with the same sacrifices as the names of the items offered as an offering). And the dead man standing in front of him positions he occupied in his life and scenes from daily life.
In the Fifth and Sixth Dynasties, the decorative sides emerged in the form of rectangles, squares, wavy lines, or plants, and images of the deceased were fairly common.
During the era of the modern state, the presence of phantom doors continued, but was associated with temples where the walls of the murals known as the "auditory ear", which were generally located in the outer wall near the back of the temple near the sanctuary, which functioned as phantom doors, where these chapels allowed those outside the temple to communicate Directly with the deity who was hearing them through the phantom door.
